Besan Unde and Many Happy Returns

Celebrations. Incomplete without sweets in our country. When we think about Kucch Meetha Ho Jaaye, this is what we make.

Ingredients:

1 cup Gram Flour

1/2 cup Wheat Flour

1 cup Powdered Sugar

3/4 cup Ghee (Clarified Butter), more or less depending on the need

5-6 Cardamom, powdered

1/4 cup Raisins

1/4 cup Cashewnuts

A pinch of Nutmeg powder

Ghee for frying

Heat the ghee in a kadhai and fry the besan until the aroma fills your kitchen. Transfer to a large plate. In the same kadhai, without adding any extra ghee, roast the wheat flour. Mix this with the besan paste.

In another small kadhai, heat some more ghee and fry the raisins and cashews. Add these to the besan-wheat flour mixture. Add the cardamom powder and nutmeg powder along with the powdered sugar.

Mix well and form small balls. This is a lovely treat for you and yours to enjoy.

Today is my parents' 44th wedding anniversary and I wanted to share a really special treat with all of you. I am so happy to be able to spend today with them and am ever so grateful that I got them as parents. My world is a better place thanks to them.

Amma & Appa: wishing you every happiness.

And off this goes to dear Asha for the RCI Karnataka event.
